The Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (DEEE) is Singapore’s most established engineering course with a history of more than 50 years. Today, more than 20,000 students have graduated from the course, which has been recognized by both local and foreign universities and industries.
With DEEE, you will gain engineering knowledge and skills related to a wide range of industries from aerospace, biomedical, robotics and even transportation, providing you with endless possibilities for your career.
Course Highlights
  • Flexible curriculum with a choice of 9 specialisations (Aerospace, Biomedical, Power, Robotics & Control, Communication, Computer, Rapid Transit Technology, Microelectronics and Business).
  • You get to major in two specialisations, giving you more opportunities in the job market.
    • If you choose to specialise in the Power Engineering Option, you can apply for the Electrical Worker License issued by the Energy Market Authority after two years of relevant experience. This gives you an edge in the job market.
    • If you take a specialisation in Aerospace Engineering, you can have a competitive edge when taking the SAR 66 examinations conducted by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore for Licensing of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.
    • You may apply for SingTel Engineering Cadet Scholarship if you specialise in Communication or Computer Option.
    • You may apply for Public Transport Industry Scholarship if you specialise in Rapid Transit Technology Option.
  • Overseas internship programmes in China, Japan, New Zealand, Taiwan and Thailand.
  • You can gain direct entry into the second year of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering course at NTU or gain about one year’s worth of exemptions at NUS. You may be granted advanced standing of up to two years when applying for related degree programmes at overseas universities in Australia, New Zealand and United Kingdom.
  • The option to complete the academic programme in six semesters with a 6-week internship or complete the academic programme in five semesters and use the last semester to complete a multidisciplinary project or a 22-week internship.
  • Full-time application is open to GCE 'O' Level / SPM / UEC holders and ITE graduates.
It should be noted that applicants, particularly those who wish to pursue a career in electrical power engineering or as a Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW), with colour vision deficiency may encounter difficulties meeting the course requirements and expectation, as this condition is required by the Energy Market Authority (EMA) of Singapore. Those with mild colour deficiency are required to undergo an in-house test.

    G.C.E. 'O' Level / SPM / UEC Qualifications

    Applicants must obtain:
    i) the following GCE 'O' Level grades at not more than two sittings and
ii) 26 points or better for the net ELR2B2 aggregate score (i.e. English Language, 2 relevant subjects and best 2 other subjects, including CCA Bonus points)
    SUBJECTGRADE
    i) English Language (as 1st Lang)1 - 7*
    ii) Mathematics (Elementary / Additional)1 - 6
iii) One of the following subjects:
    • Biology
    • Biotechnology
    • Chemistry
    • Combined Science
    • Design & Technology
